Space history at Porzellanikon Selb

Anyone who attends the lecture "I'd love to be an astronaut" at Porzellanikon Selb on Thursday 15 June 2023 from 6 p.m. will learn from Tasillo Römisch, the owner of Space Service International, how the small and big "business" works around 400 km above the earth. Because the "quiet little toilet", around which the special exhibition "Toilet & Co. - sanitary ceramics from outhouse to high-tech toilet" at Porzellanikon in Selb revolves, also keeps the space pilots in space busy on a daily basis. The lecturer on space travel is also familiar with the handling of toilets in space and knows how solid and liquid substances are disposed of afterwards.

Römisch has collected almost 100,000 objects on the subject of space travel and exhibits some of them in the Mittweida Space Museum, which opened in the early 1990s. The parts of the space toilet currently on display at Porzellanikon are also part of his collection, which is in the Guinness Book of Records. The objects can be seen in exhibitions all over the world, so Porzellanikon is particularly pleased to bring a real space expert to Selb. After the lecture, anyone who feels like it can try space food for themselves. Price: Museum admission, registration at besuchercenter(at)porzellanikon.org or phone +49 9287 918000.
