PORZELLANIKON SUPPORTS SOCCER FIELD FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTHS IN NEUHAUS A.D. EGER

At the traditional museum festival of the Porzellanikon - State Museum of Porcelain, Hohenberg a.d. Eger on August 14, 2022, an auction of a wide variety of items from the 1980s took place. This was a reference to the founding date of the museum, now Europe's largest museum for porcelain, which was founded in August 1982. Authentic pieces of clothing from the 1980s, records, VHS recorders and even the oversized and colorful Rubik's cubes that decorated the museum's garden the night before at the "80s Party" went under the hammer and found new owners. In the end, a high amount of 900,00 Euro in total was collected.

The entire amount was donated for the new soccer field for children and young people in Neuhaus a.d. Eger. The soccer field is now located in the center of the village and is easier and above all safer to reach for all young and old soccer players. Still on the day of the museum festival, Anna Dziwetzki, director of the Porzellanikon presented the donation to Dietmar Menzel, who accepted it on behalf of the soccer friends. "We are pleased that we were able to contribute a part to this project near our museum location in Hohenberg a.d. Eger," said the director. On Sunday, October 16, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., the opening ceremony of the soccer field was held by the 1st mayor of Hohenberg a.d. Eger, Jürgen Hoffmann. In front of numerous guests he cut the red ribbon and with this act declared the pitch officially open.
