Costume guided tour for adults and kids - "With Princess Marie on a cure" at Porzellanikon Hohenberg a.d. Eger.

On Sunday, 1 October 2023, at 14:00, Princess Marie will take visitors on a journey back in time to 19th century Bohemia at the Porzellanikon - State Museum for Porcelain in Hohenberg a.d. Eger. As part of the special exhibition "Luxury, Wellness, Porcelain - A Day at a Bohemian Spa", museum guests can experience everyday spa life as it was practised in the renowned spas of Bohemia. For aristocratic families and important personalities, a stay at the spa was considered a social event, so for many it was a case of "see and be seen". On official occasions, no expense or effort was spared to show off their social status. The evening banqueting tables and parlours were furnished with high-quality porcelain. But the "white gold" was also omnipresent at the fountain drinking cure. The bath and fountain cups were emblazoned with the townscapes of the spa towns or high-quality decorations. And because they were popular souvenirs, many porcelain pieces found their way to the most diverse regions throughout Europe. Together with Princess Marie, the participants paint their own spa drinking cup and use it to taste various healing waters. Afterwards, they write postcards with ink and fountain pen, just like in the old days. During a visit to the photo studio, guests young and old can slip into costume and pose as a prince or princess.
