SPECIAL FEATURES FOR THE PORCELAIN FESTIVAL - SPECIAL OPENING OF BOTH LOCATIONS ON MONDAY, 7 AUGUST 2023


On 5 and 6 August 2023, Europe's largest porcelain flea market will once again take place for the Festival of the Porcelainers and thousands of visitors will be on the hunt for porcelain beauties on the streets of Selb. To ensure that guests from near and far feel at home in Selb, the Porzellanikon - State Museum of Porcelain with its two locations in Selb and Hohenberg a.d. Eger also offers various opportunities to experience the white gold.

On Sunday, 6 August 2023, at 3:00 pm, Dr. des. Joana Mylek will give a guided tour of the special exhibition "Klo & Co. - Sanitary Ceramics from Outhouse to High-Tech Toilet", which can be seen at Porzellanikon Selb until 26 November 2023. Everything revolves around the exciting and bizarre stories that life writes about a subject that concerns everyone: the toilet. In Hohenberg a.d. Eger, the costume tour at 2 p.m. takes visitors through the current special exhibition "Luxury, Wellness, Porcelain - A Day at the Bohemian Spa". Here, the white gold with its most beautiful shapes, painted in great colours or covered with gold, plays the absolute leading role.

Visitors can also round off their weekend trip to Selb with a visit to the two museum locations on Monday, 7 August 2023. From 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, the Porzellanikon exhibitions in Selb and Hohenberg a.d. Eger will open their doors especially for the Porzellinerfest. Those who like it even more relaxed will get their money's worth at the cultural breakfast in Hohenberg a.d. Eger on 7 August 2023 from 9:30 am. Museum educator Nadine Zentgraf will first guide you through the exhibition "Luxury, Wellness, Porcelain - A Day at the Bohemian Spa" and then participants will enjoy a rich breakfast buffet.
