MODERN PORCELAIN AT PORZELLANIKON HOHENBERG A.D. EGER
On 29 and 30 July, from 10:00 to 17:00, the focus in Hohenberg a.d. Eger will be on young, modern porcelain! For the third time, the porcelain market of the Porzellanikon - State Museum of Porcelain attracts out-of-town visitors to the region before the Porzellinerfest begins. A jury consisting of designers, artists and teachers from the industry selects the vendors. These show their contemporary works in the museum and in the idyllic museum garden. Anyone who discovers something beautiful can purchase the object directly from the artists.
The artworks by various artists are also nominated for the jury prize 2023. The experts on the jury will choose their favourite. The winners will have their own studio exhibition at Porzellanikon Hohenberg a.d. Eger. Visitors can cast their votes themselves until 3 p.m. on Sunday and choose their favourite. The winner will receive € 500.00 in prize money.
Various delicacies invite you to linger in the museum garden and a visit to the special exhibition "Luxury, Wellness, Porcelain - A Day at the Bohemian Spa" creates a balance between history and modernity. Guided tours of the special exhibition take place at 11:00 and 14:00. For those who prefer to go exploring on their own, the legendary stagecoach driver Wenzel Wolfert will "tell" which VIPs stayed in Bohemia and what their everyday spa life was like. Admission is free!
