Porcelain Trip - Experience porcelain production up close!

Porcelain Trip: Public guided tour of porcelain production, every Saturday from 10:30 am at Porzellanikon Selb.

How are inconspicuous chunks of kaolin turned into the beautiful, noble porcelain, also known as white gold, from which we drink our coffee or tea and serve our food every day? The answer to this question can be found on the porcelain trip at Porzellanikon - State Museum of Porcelain, Selb. Every Saturday, from 10:30 to 12:00, visitors can experience porcelain production up close in a public guided tour. Real porcelain makers take participants on an eventful journey back in time to the heyday of porcelain production. The historic factory buildings and the exhibition on porcelain production in Europe's largest porcelain museum are a popular attraction for visitors from near and far. In the rooms, visitors can see how porcelain tableware was created and is created - then and now - from the preparation of the mass and the construction of plaster moulds to white production and decoration. A special highlight of the tour is the steam engine in action, which once supplied an entire factory with energy. The price is the museum entrance fee.
