40 years Porzellanikon Hohenberg a.d. Eger: Anniversary lecture series: Life in the Villa Hutschenreuther.

On Thursday, 15 September 2022, at 7:00 p.m., Porzellanikon - Staatliches Museum für Porzellan, Hohenberg a.d. Eger will continue its 5-part lecture series on the occasion of the museum's 40th anniversary: chief curator of Porzellanikon, Petra Werner will meet Christa Schöffel, descendant of the Hutschenreuther family.

"We are pleased that we have been able to win Christa Schöffel, descendant of the Hutschenreuther family, for a personal talk about life in the villa of the Hutschenreuther family of factory owners in Hohenberg a.d. Eger," informs Anna Dziwetzki, Director of Porzellanikon. "It will be an exciting evening: chief curator Petra Werner and Christa Schöffel will take the audience on an authentic journey through time. The chat hour will be about stories from the family and everyday life in the villa; Petra Werner will probe and get to the bottom of Christa Schöffel's memories." The senior citizen wants to recall stories of her mother Lorle. She was born in 1908 and had twin sisters. According to her recollection, there was a private teacher who gave French lessons to the children, and there were servants to look after the needs of the family. Those present can look forward to an interesting and entertaining evening, during which unknown and personal facts from the family life of the factory owner's family will be brought to light".
The next lectures will take place on Saturday, 15 October 2022 ("550 Years of Porcelain Culture: Fürstenberg and Nymphenburg Celebrate Double Anniversary" with Dr. Katharina Hantschmann and Dr. Christian Lechelt) and on Thursday, 27 October ("Successes Without End - The Porcelain Industry of Upper Franconia up to 1914" with Dr. Arnd Kluge), both at 7:00 pm.
