Festive mood at Porzellanikon Hohenberg a.d. Eger


Porzellanikon - State Museum of Porcelain, Hohenberg a.d. Eger, is turning 40! This anniversary will be celebrated on Saturday, 13 August 2022 with an 80s party. The event will take place in the romantic museum garden, which will be decorated in the style of the 80s. The party starts at 18:00. Anyone who wants to relive memories of shoulder pads, neon colours and 99 balloons is welcome. Visitors can expect a cocktail bar, delicious food and a large collection of hits from the era. Clothing from the 80s is definitely desired, but not obligatory - the coolest outfit will be awarded a prize! The entrance fee is 5 euros.

The very next day, 14 August 2022, the traditional museum festival continues, also in the museum garden. It will start at 11:00 a.m. with a Weißwurst breakfast and coffee & cake. The day will be accompanied by an atmospheric supporting programme that will appeal to all age groups. For example, a raffle is on the programme. The proceeds will go to the children's football pitch in Neuhaus/Hohenberg. In addition, visitors to the museum festival can take the opportunity to attend the finissage of the studio exhibition by Angelika Krauß (Angelika Krauß Porzellan). Angelika Krauß is the winner of the jury prize of the 1st Porcelain Market at Porzellanikon Hohenberg a.d. Eger 2021 and will be happy to talk to participants in person from 14:00. Of course, a tour of the current special exhibition "UNIKATE erzählen. Artistic Meissen 1970 - 2010". The Fichtelgebirgsverein will also be represented with an information stand at Porzellanikon on this day and will inform guests about the work of the association. Anyone who wants to can take part in a hike to the Caroline Spring at 11:00 and 15:00 under the motto "Health and Deceleration". Admission 1,00 Euro.

The TSV Schirnding dance troupe will surprise visitors on both days with a lively dance performance.

The route to Porzellanikon is free even during the construction work in Hohenberg a.d. Eger. Visitors coming from Selb are kindly requested to follow the locally signposted directions and possible diversions.
