JUNK OR TREASURE? EXPERT DAY WITH THE CURATOR DUO

Porcelain enthusiasts and porcelain collectors can rejoice: On Thursday, August 5, 2021, the legendary Expert Day will take place again for the first time this year at Porzellanikon - Staatliches Museum für Porzellan, Hohenberg an der Eger! Visitors can bring up to three porcelain objects to the expert day. From 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., chief curator Petra Werner and curator Thomas Miltschus, Porzellanikon's porcelain experts, will be on hand to share their expertise on porcelain from Germany and all the renowned European manufactories. In an entertaining way, they tell everything there is to say about the heirlooms or favourite pieces, curiosities or collectors' items they have brought with them, for example about the origin, edition size or year of origin of the objects. After just a few moments, the owners learn whether their porcelain is a true treasure or a lovable junk.

To shorten possible waiting times, a tour through the special exhibition "FORMVOLLENDET - Keramikdesign von Hans-Wilhelm Seitz" is recommended, which is on display until January 9, 2022. The show features tableware for every day, such as the successful "Daily", "Carat" or "Cucina" forms - to name just a few of the artist's numerous design classics.

The expert day costs 3.00 euros per person (museum admission). Due to Corona restrictions, registration is necessary. Visitors are requested to register at besuchercenter(at)porzellanikon.org or + 49 9287-91800-0. Further information at www.porzellanikon.org.

The next Expert Day will take place on November 11, 2021.
