SPECIAL EXHIBITIONS ARE EXTENDED!

Although the Corona pandemic continues to have a grip on public life, this situation has resulted in positive developments for two special exhibitions at Porzellanikon - Staatliches Museum für Porzellan, Hohenberg a. d. Eger and Selb.

Thus, the designer Hans-Wilhelm Seitz delighted the curator of the special exhibition "FORMVOLLENDET - Keramikdesign von Hans-Wilhelm Seitz", Petra Werner, with the promise that he would be very happy to make his objects available to Porzellanikon at its location in Hohenberg an der Eger for an extension of the exhibition until 9 January 2022. "Of course, we were very pleased about that, considering that this special exhibition was only on display for a few weeks due to the Corona closure," says the curator. Seitz has been honoured several times with the renowned Red Dot Design Award and is considered one of the most important designers in Germany. The likeable designer from Marktredwitz worked for the most famous porcelain factories in the region - for Bauscher, Arzberg or Schönwald - and yet he always remained true to his line: soft lines, pure elegance, perfect proportions and suitable for everyday use. This is how design classics such as "Daily", "Carat" and "Cucina" were created, which are used all over the world.

Wolfgang Schilling, curator of the special exhibition "ART MEETS TECHNOLOGY. Ceramics from the 3D Printer" at the Selb location also has positive things to report: "After this exhibition about the unimagined possibilities of 3D printing could also only be visited for a few months, the designers have agreed to make their exhibits available for an extension of the exhibition until 3 October 2021. We are delighted that the exhibition has met with such broad interest among visitors." Fortunately for technology mediator Christoph Uhlig, the popular 3D printing workshops will also continue: "After I have been on the phone very often in recent months with disappointed visitors who would have liked to attend another 3D workshop, I am of course very happy about the extension of the exhibition. This gives me the opportunity to spend many more hours with creative and inquisitive technology fans!
