Life in Industrial Society
This programme provides school children deep insight into the social effects of industrialization. Using the former porcelain factory and workers’ settlement in Selb-Plößberg as an example, students are able to see and understand the influence this had on the Life of Factory Workers.
Each group (max. 20 people) receives an interactive, 45-minute tour through the selected area of the exhibition or a town tour of Selb-Plößberg. The students are then given detailed source material on each topic, which they evaluate with the help of work orders and creative proposals.
The following focus topics are available:
- Working conditions of porcelain makers
- Living conditions
- Labour movement
- Self-concept of entrepreneurs
Opportunities for a presentation at the end of the programme are available as well as separate workrooms for up to five groups. On request, a programme can be organized for an entire form (grade).
