Enjoy twice: cooperation between Porzellanikon and three spas from the region

This year, both special exhibitions in Europe's largest museum for porcelain focus on health, water and wellness in addition to the white gold. Fittingly, Porzellanikon is launching a special cooperation with the SIEBENQUELL GESUNDZEITRESORT spa in Weißenstadt, the ALEXBAD spa in Bad Alexandersbad and the SIBYLLENBAD spa in Bad Neualbenreuth. Even the spa doctors in the 19th century knew how important water is for health, so from now on Porzellanikon guests can enjoy it twice over to do something good for body and soul. Simply present your museum ticket for the special Porzellanikon exhibitions from Selb and Hohenberg in the three baths mentioned above and receive a 10% discount on the day ticket.

In Hohenberg a.d. Eger, "Luxury, Wellness, Porcelain - A Day at the Bohemian Spa" takes you back to the 19th century. Wonderfully painted bubble cups were used for the prescribed drinking cures and the spa guests dined at richly laid tables in convivial company. They spent their free time taking long walks or shopping in one of the many porcelain factories. Elisabeth of Austria, known as "Sisi", also took the cure in Bohemia and so the Porzellanikon in Hohenberg a.d. Eger shows her elaborately decorated tableware and the empress's bath thermometer.

In Selb, the exhibition "Klo & Co. Sanitärkeramik vom Plumpsklo bis zur Hightech-Toilette" (Toilet & Co. Sanitary Ceramics from the Outhouse to the High-tech Toilet) shows the history of the "quiet little toilet" from antiquity to the modern age. Even long ago, physical needs were important to people. Whether it was a flush toilet, toilet paper or a porcelain bowl, everything contributed to well-being and was also very hygienic. The white gold created elegant possibilities to take personal preferences and wishes into account. For example, Elisabeth of Austria's travel bidet was decorated with dolphins and flowers.
