On the occasion of the new special exhibition "More than Bricks! Tradition and Future of Architectural Ceramics" at Porzellanikon - Staatliches Museum für Porzellan, Selb, there will be a curator's tour of the exhibition on Sunday, 10 April 2022, at 2:30 pm. The show presents the tradition and future of architectural ceramics - facades, sacred buildings, commercial buildings, factories as well as interior design and much more - on two times 300 square metres. A total of 80 exhibits from Germany and Europe are on display in the special exhibition. The centrepiece of the exhibition is a virtual walk through the entrance gate of the 1900 Paris World's Fair. "At the end of the tour, we are also happy to open our mocha bar with an impressive mural made of Meissen porcelain tiles, which was rescued from the Palace of the Republic in Berlin and is on display for the first time in an exhibition," enthuses curator Thomas Miltschus.
The price is 1.00 Sunday admission plus 3.50 euros for the guided tour. Registration is necessary at besuchercenter(at)porzellanikon.org or phone +49 9287 918000. Further information on the exhibition at www.porzellanikon.org.
