Public opening of studio exhibition by Angelika Krauß at Porzellanikon Hohenberg a.d. Eger

On Friday, 1 July 2022 at 6:00 pm, the studio exhibition of ceramist Angelika Krauß will open at Porzellanikon Hohenberg. The opening is open to the public - all interested parties are welcome.

In 2021, the porcelain artist from Velden (near Pegnitz) won the jury prize at the first porcelain market in Hohenberg and is now showing selected porcelain pieces from her diverse repertoire in a studio exhibition. The designer is showing filigree porcelain pieces such as vases, bowls and art objects as well as wafer-thin lighting objects made of unglazed porcelain. In addition, there are sometimes unusual wall installations.

Angelika Krauß freely rotates her objects without form on the glass. As every porcelain maker knows, porcelain does not forget. The material is sensitive, capricious and difficult to control. When worked, it is soft and plastic; after firing, it is harder than steel. These contrasts attract Angelika Krauß. She only makes small series and the ideas come to her while she is designing. Her works are characterised by a playful, decorative and functional character.

In the picturesque museum garden of Porzellanikon Hohenberg, after the welcome by museum director Anna Dziwetzki and artist Angelika Krauß and the tour of the exhibition, canapés and drinks will be available. The relaxed ambience in the garden of the former director's villa invites guests to talk about the ceramicist's works, to discuss them and to enter into direct conversation with Angelika Krauß.

The exhibition will end with a finissage on 14 August 2022, which will take place as part of the museum festival at Porzellanikon Hohenberg. Angelika Krauß will also participate in the second porcelain market in Hohenberg on 23 and 24 July 2022, where she will show her other current works.
